Sightseeing

Half Day Tour (Duration: 5 hours)

Visit to the Wat Chayamangkalaram (Reclining Buddha Temple) and Dharmikarama Burmese Temple where you’ll witness the famous Golden Reclining Buddha statue and be awed by the intricate architecture of both temples. Next, be taken back in time to Penang’s colonial past at the Colonial Penang Museum and get a glimpse of both the British Administrators and wealthy merchants’ lifestyle in Penang. Stop for a little retail therapy of local products at the Cocoa Boutique before heading down town for a tour of the heritage zone filled with old Colonial Buildings (Photo stop), and where the famous historic Fort Cornwallis (Photo stop) is situated. Be sure to capture as much as you can when you break for a ‘photo stop’! The fort was built in the late 18th century by the British East India Company and to date, its old structure and cannons are still intact. Continue on past the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower and proceed to the waterfront where you’ll get a chance to walk along the Clan Jetty, where houses are built on stilts and till today, it is still home to many. After this, we’ll take a slow drive through the much talked about Street of Harmony, where houses of worship for the four main religions fall on the same street, namely the St. George’s Church, Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Yin Temple), Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and Kapitan Keling Mosque.End your day with a comfortable ride back to your hotel.
