The Jade Buddha Temple houses a collection of jade statues from Burma. Marvel at the gorgeous carvings, designs, statues, and explosion of colors inside the temple. Take pictures of the massive sitting and reclining buddhas.

After that, proceed to the Fresh Water Pearl Gallery. Watch and learn about the meticulous process of pearl cultivation at Fresh Water Pearl Gallery. Also, you may get a chance to be presented with a single pearl from a mussel.

Located in the heart of Shanghai is the People's Square. It is a beautifully landscaped enormous area of plants and trees at the center, surrounded by dominating buildings. You may also feed some doves in the area.

The Shanghai Museum houses a huge collection of ancient Chinese art and hosts massive exhibits of bronze ware, ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, sculpture, jade carving, ancient furniture and western art.  Remarks: On Mondays, the museum is closed and the tour visits the M50 Art Zone instead.

After lunch, head to Yuyuan Garden and Shanghai Old Street, where you can feel the ancient vibe of Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644). Take photos and admire the structures in the area.

The Bund is one of Shanghai's most popular landmarks. It is Shanghai's waterfront area, with gorgeous architectural designs stretching at around four kilometers along the street.

Visit the silk factory in Shanghai for some of the lowest-priced authentic silk you can buy (at yourown expense). Also, watch and learn how this Chinese silk is produced.

See the beautifull streets of the French Concession, aligned with well-tended trees and Tudor mansions. Then, relax and stroll around the streets of Xin Tian Di, Shanghai's new entertainment district.

Your day tour will end at 4pm. Spend your own time at Xin Tian Di or go back to your hotel with the group.

Day 4 - Suzhou Expedition from Shanghai

Catch the highlights of historic Suzhou, including the Master of Nets Garden, on this 10-hour private day tour from Shanghai.

With a 2,500-year-old history, Suzhou was one of China’s major medieval cities, and attracted writers and painters drawn by its beauty. Today, it boasts a charming old quarter famed for its classical gardens, canals, and silk-making.

See the 14th-century Panmen Gate and surrounding scenic area near the remaining city moat and walls. View the Song-, Yuan-, Ming-, and Qing-era buildings here before strolling along canalside Shantang Street. Pass boats and bridges, and learn about Suzhou’s centuries-old Wu culture as you watch waterside life.

After a Suzhou-style restaurant lunch overlooking the canals, tour a silk factory. Discover the art and history of silk-making, and perhaps purchase some pieces (own expense).

Next, explore arguably the best of Suzhou’s UNESCO-listed gardens. Savor the exquisite landscapes, created in 1342 by a Buddhist monk, as you wander around the sculpted rocks, ponds, and pavilions.
